Symantec End Point Protection Suite 12.1.6 (Enterprise Edition) does not offer force clean for removable media. It only ensures that malware is not spread and contains all the malware activities. A force clean before the file system mount shall improve the scenario where users needs to accept input from third party in removable media . Where organizations needs to exchange information on removable media among themselves, there will be less chances of malware spread from one node to another node. Currently as this force scan is not there, lots of our users says that their drives are detected with malware while they are in other organization to share data. The very reason of it is, user have never done a full scan of his/her media and moreover Symantec does not provide a force scan on removable media.
I request Symantec to bring this feature as a choice to organization if they want to have a force scan for removable media or not. Otherwise we leave the reputation of our team and organization on the merit of users who hardly has the knowledge that the media should be regularly verified.
