Many of our clients are too small for the Enterprise SKU of Endpoint Protection, but we still use Group Policy in Windows to manage the software Firewalls on their workstations. After the installation of Symantec.cloud on a workstation, it blocks Windows Firewall from functioning completely and if you disable the Smart Firewall within the policy assigned to the Symantec.cloud Agent, you are still unable to use Windows Firewall at all--leaving the workstation with no software firewall protection.
When you install a Symantec.cloud Agent on a server, the above mentioned behavior is not observed and the Windows Firewall remains active--meaning that the feature exists somewhere in the code for the product. I'd like for a check box to be implemented on the Policy configuration screen to enable or disable having Symantec.cloud take responsibility for and management over Windows Firewall functionality on workstations in the event that the Smart Firewall is not enabled on the policy.
