Provide a cloud agent feature for communication between internal SEPM server and mobile computers SEP client connected anytime anywhere on the Internet (outside corporate LAN). Valuable for situations where mobile users are out of office and connected to the regular Internet, not on corporate LAN or a VPN for extended periods of time. This could allow administrators to monitor SEP status and definitions, update policies, and other administrative tasks. This would improve security and compliance for those mobile computers and their users.
Currently SEP clients can get definition updates from LiveUpdate when not on LAN from just being connected to Internet, but there is no way to monitor the client SEP status. The software could be malfunctioning, old definitions, or other problems and administrators would not know because they cannot be monitored unless the user connects to the LAN or VPN into the corporate network.
