Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange's quarantine has a few areas that could stand for some improvement.
After quarantining a specific attachment type to stop 0day obfuscated Trojan downloaders, I found that I could not release legitimate emails to their intended recipients, because SMSE does not list recipients in the CC or BCC fields of an email. Legitimate emails with just BCC usage (rather than proper mail merge emails) simply display as "Unknown Recipient". And any other email with a TO address but also with CC and or BCC will only list the TO addresses.
Suggestions:
1) Please add CC and BCC field textboxes in addition to the existing TO Recipients(s) textbox.
2) Mail can only be released to recipients in the TO field (or any address manually entered) because that's all the software looks at. Please allow releasing of mail to CC and BCC addresses as well.
3) Please fix release-to-file functionality so that the CC and BCC addresses are included.
I saw this same issue posted some 3 years ago, and it obviously has not been implemented. As is, I cannot effectively use the software for quarantining, and will have to look elsewhere.
