SEE 11 In-Place Upgrade

With Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11.x the option to run a "in-place upgrade" on a currently installed client package via the command: /fvamus no longer functions as used to when the product was SEE 8.2.x.

My idea is to have this option available for all customers. Running a command like this can save an IT many hours as utilizing this command requires no decrypt, uninstall, reinstall, encrypt.

Example prior usage:

1. Install SEE 8.2.1, encrypt to 100%, reboot, register user.
2. Create a new SEE 8.2.1 client package, place this on the desktop locally
3. run the following command to reload all DLLs and exe’s (aka in-place upgrade)

            msiexec /fvamus “path to framework.msi”

            msiexec /fvamus “path to fulldisk.msi”
