Endpoint Protection Client Issue

Problem:

We are using IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager (new name is Spectrum Protect) to backup our Windows servers. When a System State backup runs we get an error indicating a symantec file is not found. Here is the error:

"ANS4251W System Writer file '\\MyServerName\c$\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Symantec Shared\EENGINE\eectrl64.sys': not found."

We copy the file from another server. The backups runs cleanly for period of time then the file is missing again and the System State error returns. I've opened Symantec case 09483077 to address this. Symantec support says it is normal behaviour for Symantec to delete this file when content is updated. Support noted that the file will return when the server is rebooted, which it does, and will be deleted again after another content update. The case goes into more detail about the problem and attempted resolutions. In summary the Symantec file can not be excluded from the System State backup, the Symantec work around is to copy the file from another server to this one or reboot the server. We have over 150 servers with this problem.

Requested Enhancement:

The Symantec Endpoint client should remove the file entry in System State if it is going to delete a file that is registered in System State. I would like to see the product enhannced to not delete the file, just replace it after a reboot if it needs to do so. If the file must be deleted then unregister the file in System State so the System State backup will end with-out warnings.
