How many times have you looked at a client package setup.exe and thought what version is that and what does it install?
When creating a setup.exe SEP should also create a text file that goes with that describes what version it is, what location it will install it in on the SEPM and also what elements of SEP it will install. As most of the time packages are distributed to none SEP savy people to install and would be a nice edition to the package to be able to identify it instead of having a file called setup.exe
The extracted install has something a bit like this but the single setup.exe does not.
