German translation is sometimes really confusing, worst examples are translations for "location".
Examples:
Where to find ... | English | German |
---|---|---|
Implementation & Administration Guide | location | Speicherort |
SEPM > Reports > Audit | location | Laufwerk (?) Speicherort |
SEPM > Clients > Policies | location | Standort (*) |
Client > Help > Troubleshooting | location awareness | Speicherortsbezug |
location | Ablageort (???) |
(*) "Standort" is the correct translation for "site". SEP beginners are sometimes confusing site and location although these are completely different things.
So you have four different translations for "location": Speicherort, Standort, Laufwerk and Ablageort. In SEP 11, there was a fifth translation: Gruppenstandort.
It would be great to unify the translation. "Speicherort" seems to be the best of the existing items, however it's also possible not to translate it at all. Why not just take "location"?
