Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager -- Customizeable error log retention / damper setting.
It has come to my organizations attention that at certain times log files that are sent from clients to the Endpoint Protection Manager are either not correctly processed or error out due to invlaid field formats upon processing to a MS SQL database.
These files are typically in the following directory - :\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\inbox
these files typically show as (Misc. TEXT).tmp.dat.err logs.
If these files progress unchecked they can cause an issues with both space and resource allocation on the Management server.
The feature request I am asking for would require the Management server to tag these logs, identify the offending clients and send a notification on the client and the problem - be it OS date and time stamps, etc.
The feature would also delete the files based on either a time to live or a size allocation for the directories in question.
