SEP 15 support for Debian 9 on Linode

We currently use Debian 9 (stretch) on Linode extensively. 

While similar to Ubuntu (bionic), which is supported, attempts to install SEP on Debian result in "Linux Distribution not supported"

We would appreciate being able to install SEP on Debian 9 or have a command to override the "Linux Distribution not supported" error to run in an unsupported configuration.
