Feature Request: Please allow wildcards in SEP exceptions for folder and file names. like d:\abc*\* or c:\abc\safe*.exe
This is needed to meet antivirus requirements provided by my software vendor. This is not the first time I have needed this feature. Also, I believe most major players in the AV industry do allow this type of exception.
This is probably not the first time this has been suggested, but I think the community should keep requesting this until the feature is included. Symantec support told me that SEP v14 and v15 do not have this feature. I was disappointed to learn that SEP 15 does not have this since it is in the early stages of a new product.
There may be some design or security reasons for this feature not being included. I acknowledge that. Howerver, I think the engineers are intelligent enought to add this feature while addressing those issues.
Security concerns: Add the feature with the default being set to OFF. Then only customers who enable the feature, and agree to the security warning, would be able to use this feature.
Design problems: don't enable the feature unless a registry key or something similar, is detected by the AV engine.
