Load Balancing - Remove Requirement For Registry Key and Add Cross Platform Support

Hello,

We have attempted to implement load balancing using two SEPMs but we have run into the issue where for the clients to really load balance (choose a random SEPM at connection time) you have to turn off tamper protection on your clients and then add a registry key. This is very difficult when you already have tens of thousands of clients deployed in a diverse management environment. We would suggest updating the documentation to say that really failover is the supported scenario as opposed to load balancing.

These articles do not metion the need to undo tamper protection and apply a registry key for the randomization to work:

https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.HOWTO81...

https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.HOWTO12...

This article explains it well but it is not referenced or linked to from the other articles:

https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH213...

We are requesting that by default if you have two management servers with the same priority that it will randomly pick one of the two servers as opposed to connecting to the last one that it connected to unless that server is not availible (fail over). We would also like the macOS and Linux clients to behave in the same way. Today the macOS and Linux clients cannot load balance based on randomization at all (no "registry key" to force this behavior).

Thank you!

Andrew
