I propose adding the option to log alerts to a syslog server. Currently this option isn't available to SEP Small Business Customers. If this product is going to continue to meet the needs of small business, it has to mature. There must be a middle ground between small business and enterprise. With the comercialization of Security Operations Centers and the constantly growing regulatory requirement for monitoring, this option would provide a middle ground to meet your customers regulator burden and allow them to grow into an enterprise business partner of Symantec.
This logging and monitoring requirement is forcing a decision point on my operations. I like the product but I have to pass regulatory scrutiny.
To summarize:
For your SEP Small Business Customers, add the feature of logging alerts to a third party via syslog, shouldn't be too difficult and you can recoup the development thru the dwindling requirement of storing the alerts on your site.
