Symantec,
We are disappointed in the lag time required to add compatibility for new versions of the Linux kernel to Symantec products like Endpoint Protection.
Symantec Endpoint 14 Auto-Protect is malfunctioning on Red Hat Linux hosts after upgrading to Red Hat 7.4 Manually compiling auto-protect kernel modules is not a satisfactory workaround for our situation.
Red Hat 7.4 has been out since the July/August 2017 timeframe, but compatibility has not been added yet for it. Compatibility for new Windows products is added much faster than support for new Red Hat versions.
Users in our industry cannot afford to delay applying kernel security updates for compliance purposes. However, updating the Linux kernel breaks Symantec products.
Please strongly consider shortening the time required to update your products to support new Linux distribution versions.
