Issue: (Details from Symantec)
If a SMG cluster exists with scanners all over the world we don't want all of the released messages going to scanners in let’s say Asia just because they were the last servers added to the cluster.
What we believe is that the Scanners appear in the order in which they were added to the Control Center.
(Details from Symantec) Case#11077275
When they get added, they are assigned a number.
This is all within the database and not viewable in the Control Center
Since you have 4 Scanners, it would be somewhat of a major job to try to alter the order and we do not guarantee that this will work.
Having said all that, what you night try is the following.
Let's say that you wanted to make the "4th" Scanner into the first one in the list.
You would need to remove all three Scanners above that one and then add them back in.
For the sake of a simplistic explanation, we will use a numbering scheme for this example.
Scanner #1 would be assigned the number "1"
Scanner #2 would be "2"
etc.
If you simply removed Scanner #4 thinking that when you added it back it would be at the top of the list, it would actually get assigned the number "5" and it would still be the last Scanner.
Using the above suggestion, Scanner #4 would stay as number "4"
You would then remove Scanners #1 and #2 and #3
You would then re-add them back
Those Scanners (depending upon the order in which you re-added them) would become number "5" and "6" and "7".
You would no longer have a Scanner #1 or #2 or #3
That should allow Scanner #4 to now be the "first" Scanner and that would be the first one tried upon releasing.
Enhancement Request:
Ideally once a message is released from the Content Quarantine it would just go back to the server that processed the messaged originally. If that is not an option then there should be a way to adjust the order of the scanners even after being added to a cluster so the customer can control which server is being used rather than it just picking the scanner at the top of the list fist.
