SEPM Enhancement Request – Delete Client Records Group Level

Would like to have the setting for “Delete clients that have not connected for specified time” at a Group level as well as the current Domain setting for “Delete clients that have not connected for specified time”.

We would like to have this value as well at a Group container level that has the ability to override the higher Global Domain setting.

Reasons for this are as follows:

  • Requirement to maintain the Domain setting “Delete clients that have not connected for specified time” as we often need a report for example on all Computers that are or have been connected to SEPM in the last 90 days.
  • Would like to have a more granular “Delete clients that have not connected for specified time” at a Group level that we can reduce for groups of clients that are prone to duplicate records. Eg. VDI’s, test builds, Call centre etc

We have found this an issue as the duplicates are consuming Licenses but at the same time as described we don’t want to reduce the higher level Domain value as we know this will remove the records of computers that have not connected for this period and the business often requires reports on this historic data.

We understand there exists the “Delete non-persistent VDI clients that have not connected for specified time” but this one is not always relevant as many of our VDI’s are persistent but at the same time do have a limited life in which respect duplicates do arise. Also other departments and groups are more subject to duplicate records and this would assist with management of the client records while maintaining then higher level setting to hold historic records for the period required by the business.

We can see the benefits of this for ourselves and many other Organisations would likely benefit as well from this setting.

Appreciate your time and look forward to hopefully seeing this in a future release.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Cheers,

Craig.
